Hi, my name is Emma. I am a psychotherapist based on the Wirral. I’m a person-centred therapist, which means that I believe you know yourself best and we can work together to help you figure things out. You don’t need to have anything “wrong” to have therapy, sometimes we feel like we need to earn the right to have help and that’s simply not true. That said, if that’s where you are, then that’s ok too. That you have come to this website to consider therapy is a big step. I get that this experience might feel strange at first, but two heads are better than one and you never know, it might just work out.
What is Person-Centred therapy?
Imagine you are walking in a forest that you have been through before. Suddenly, it gets dark and everything starts to look a little different. At this point, you feel lost, and it might be hard for you to think logically about how to get back home. Person-centred therapy is kind of like, we’ve met each other in this forest and you have asked me for my help. I can’t tell you where you live, but I can help you make sense of the different directions you can take. We can discover the places you recognise and look for familiar patterns in the trees.
I run face-to-face sessions from Stories Therapy in Bromborough. I offer online, so you don’t have to be local to access help from me. I work with children of primary school age and adults. I also have a therapy offer for schools.
